The last year marked a new chapter in the Foundation’s history. Based on rigorous research and peer analysis, we set a long-term strategy to support transformative, sustainable projects that empower people to reach their full potential. We plan to deliver on this with more robust governance, a restructured grant-making process and evidenced, transparent reporting."

Case study: Ukraine response
Ukraine response: The Permira Crisis Relief Fund
We deployed the Permira Crisis Relief Fund to support Ukraine relief efforts, raising €2.5 million3 for humanitarian aid, refugee resettlement and longer-term rehabilitation projects. Charity partners included the International Committee of the Red Cross, Médecins sans Frontières, Save the Children, Allegro, Global Giving and UNICEF, alongside a number of grassroots charities in Poland. Funding was deployed in three phases throughout the year.
The Fund was raised through the generosity of Permira Partners, alongside the Permira Foundation.

€2.5m deployed in response to the Ukraine conflict, which:
Provided water and hygiene kits to 650,000 people
Funded the procurement of 500 baby incubators and 4,000 bedside monitors
Provided journalists with protective equipment to support media freedom in Eastern Ukraine
NGO Collaboration
Regular volunteering at food distribution centres
Permira’s support and expertise have been absolutely invaluable in our first year of business, enabling us to recruit expert job coaches, develop our tools and techniques and test our offer in the market. Working with such specialist and supportive colleagues in the data and HR teams has been particularly beneficial and we have used the results to focus the next stage business plan towards key growth areas.”
